New Kitchen in ADU
ADU kitchen
Fontana sits where I-10, SR-210 and I-15 come together in the western Inland Empire. We build ADUs and remodel kitchens, bathrooms and exteriors for Fontana homeowners, from older central streets to newer planned communities.
Fontana started as a farming community of citrus, vineyards and poultry ranches along Route 66, then became a steel town when the Kaiser mill opened during World War II. Newer planned communities on the north side came much later. That history gives Fontana two very different kinds of housing. Older homes in the center of town often need updated systems along with new finishes. Newer homes are structurally sound but frequently came with basic builder-grade kitchens, baths and flooring that owners are ready to replace.
Many Fontana lots have room behind the house for a detached accessory dwelling unit, and California law allows ADUs on most single-family lots. Our New Kitchen in ADU project shows the finish level we build to inside a unit: white shaker cabinets, a full backsplash and durable tile flooring, sized to live comfortably in a small footprint. The City of Fontana reviews the plans and issues permits, and we prepare the layout around your setbacks, utilities and access.
If your house is newer, the biggest gains usually come from the rooms you use every day. Replacing builder-grade cabinets and counters, converting a tub to a walk-in shower, installing new flooring through the main living area or adding a covered patio can make a newer home feel custom. Gary has more than 20 years of hands-on renovation experience, and he will tell you which upgrades are worth it and which are not.
Fontana's sun is hard on paint, trim and roofing. Our home exterior update project, with new gray paint and a new roof, shows how much a well-planned exterior job can change a house. We can pair exterior work with interior projects so you only go through one construction schedule, and we sequence it so the house is weather-tight before interior finishes go in.
In many cases, yes, but rules on rentals and short-term stays vary and HOA covenants can add limits in planned communities. We recommend confirming your plans with the City of Fontana and your HOA early, and we design to whatever applies.
If your home is in a community with a homeowners association, often yes for exterior changes. We can prepare the drawings and material details your HOA usually asks for.
